When one considers they've around 10.5 million followers I would think if sales bounce through exposure and positive comments over the next 12mths FP may just let them keep the boat..
Cheap Publicity when you calculate over 12mths of advertising costs.
Grand presentation at handover with TV coverage.. 12mths plus of videos on YouTube etc.. and if they can keep it a Grand Handover of the Deeds.. again well covered.
The boat may sell for close on a million but remember.. that's not cost.

Actually this is slightly incorrect as 90% of their followers are not even sailors....

"They are living Everyones Dream."

Re: The New Vagabond Hits The Water

Looking forward to what they get up to on the cat. It's going to be much faster than that their current mono.

IIRC they said there will be more people aboard. there's already Abbey for as the videographer but I think they might be having someone else abroad too.

Haven't got a clue where they will head. If anything the cat would have been better for the trip they they just did.

Re: The New Vagabond Hits The Water

I am sure they will have more Patrons aboard more often and it may have been part of the deal with Outremer, but that's just conjecture. It would certainly add a bit more public outreach to boost Outremer's publicity.

Haha yeah. There's been what, 1 patron so far despite all the names they call out.

Mike, I think you're right but then again they've been in the South Pacific and most people can't afford the airfare.

Re: The New Vagabond Hits The Water

Wow, looks awesome, I can't wait to read and watch some of their upcoming adventures. Seeing as how this is one of the boats I was initially interested in purchasing, it will be of particular interest. Just a side note, unless they equipped this thing with way more stuff than is on the order sheet (which could be likely as they will use this as a flagship), this is not close to a $1M boat...you can spec out a very nicely equipped O51 for well under $1M. Regardless it looks gorgeous and I'm super happy for those two, its great to see two people go create their amazing future vs. sit back and gripe about all the obstacles keeping them from doing it.

Re: The New Vagabond Hits The Water

Oh interesting - somehow I had never seen them before. Looked at a few and thought they're very savvy at marketing a "down to earth" image while monetizing the body. If they add crew it'll add more drama to the mix and probably excite another crowd.
