Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

Thanks for the replies - currently travelling on route to US so not a lot of email access.

Lance et al - sorry, the dream is the Pacific crossing, so restricted to Carib/Florida (west coast US/Can would have to be a phenomenal deal to break away from Carib).

Import duties etc. - on the radar, but thanks. Will start another post on that closer to the date (who doesn't love another Importing to Australia post).

To further clarify - not looking for a fixer upper or something that will be hard to re-sell (i.e. defunct, one off customs that no one knows).

Budget is NOT $1.5 million ... if only.

Keep it coming guys!

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

3 Lagoon 42s for sale from 130K to 165K. Built to yacht grade standards when that meant something. The expensive one is not a fixer. And one Maine Cat 41. Around $350,000. Owner motivated. All built in the US. 5% savings of 350k is ....I need more fingers and toes to count that high.

You could use a detour and look at this one.

I sure would.

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

How about a Catana 381, prepaired up to Olympic standard. Having a full bottom job done in North Florida.

I just completed 9 months on the water Florida/Bahamas and back, no Marinas all on the Hook. It just needed the full bottom job and a Wind Generator.

Then she is ready for the big trip, interested?? sailing at 35 deg to windward, safe and quick.

email me bazcatanaATyahooDOTcoDotuk

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

Wow Barry!

I'm informed that you are a Catamaran Consultant with lots of experience in sailing. That you will advise us CF followers about the difference between real sailing cats and marina condos, and you even know about how to anchor.

Could you please enlighten me, because I don't know much about Olympic sailing, what event did you enter your "Olympic Standard Catana 381" in at the recent Games? I'm sure you would have won a gold medal. But in what discipline?

Dear tuskie,

In reply to your post in CF, I would like to answer your question but there is a hint of sarcasm that even us English multihull experts/consultants can detect.

Come on you Australians are renowned for drinking beer and saying what you want to say without pulling any punches, so hit me, I can take it.

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

So Baz, you won't tell us about your Olympic glories in your Catana unless I pay?

Rather jolly bad form, old chap!

Re: Thinking of Selling your Cat ?

OK Coops - Factor - tuskie,

I see one of you is a SEAWIND Broker/Agent in Australia.

Lets see how much you Laugh at this post.

THE SEAWIND 1250 has a very bad 'BRUCE; number 1.11 which is VERY, VERY VERY LOW, it is 0.18 lower than my Catana 381, a real Cat that sails at 35 deg to windward.

Now please explain to all potential Seawind buyers reading CF, WHY you have such a BAD 'BRUCE" number (power to weight ratio).

Are we still Laughing mate.

What else do you want me to tell the buying public about your Seawind Cats, need I say more. Get the idea mate???

Be nice

Regards
