Trade Waterfront Property for a Sailcat?

We are about 2 yrs away from living our dream, setting sail full time. We have been planning, preparing, researching etc for many yrs. One of the options I am wondering if it is a possibility, trading vacant waterfront property in West coast of Florida (Charlotte Harbor)for a sail cat. Has anyone done this or something similiar? Before real estate took a dump it was appraised at 350,000. Now I would be lucky to get $200,000 Nonetheless, 255 ft of waterfront property (tip lot) may interest someone. Just a thought or should I just scapforget the idea. Thanks for all input

Why not?

I would use as many ways possible to advertise. Be as descriptive as you can on both, the property and what kind of Cat you want. The way the economy is going people may be more apt to trade then to sell/buy.

I know alot of property owners are doing the trade thing other then selling and buying.

I think its a great idea... much luck to you.

About a year ago the guys at the Fort Lauderdale Lagoon dealership were telling me that they would take real estate in trade towards the purchase of a new Lagoon. If a Lagoon interests you, give them a call.
