Trampoline mesh from Sailrite?

Have anyone here tried the trampoline mesh from Sailrite? Is it comfy? Easy to make your own trampoline?

That's the vinyl coated stuff typically seen on larger cats. It's pretty nice stuff.

Consider also sailmakerssupply.com for supplies.

AFAIC, it's not particularly easy to make a big trampoline. Mainly it's the grommet setting that's a pain. And you want good SPUR grommets. FWIW, I do that sort of thing (hobbyist canvas worker) and I opted to order my net set from Sunrise.

Re: Trampoline mesh from Sailrite?

I suggest SUNRISE YACHT PRODUCTS, in Fl...

Multihull Nets and Trampolines for Catamarans and Trimarans, main page

They make great multihull nets & tramps, that are strong, and REALLY last. You can get the mesh, in light or heavy, Phyfertex, heavy webbing, or net.

They made ours 16 years ago, out of the med weight mesh, and by taking care of them, and re-coating with their vinyl dip twice, they're in GREAT shape, STILL!

You will not save much by making them yourself. (This, coming from folks who built most of their own canvass, & boat)...

Quote from trampoline-france.com. For their MT 492 it would be about 1450 USD.

I used the sail rite mesh to make our tramps. Worked out great and saved money. They're almost 5 years old and still in great shape.

Give these guys a call.

Ultra Cross Knotless Netting | NET Systems, Inc. | Predator X | Trawl Nets | Trawl Doors | Codends & Brailers | Ultra Cross Netting | Catamaran Netting

http://www.net-sys.com/catamaran-netting.php

Ask for Steve Patterson. NETS provides ALL of the netting for the big round the world boats. They weave there own netting, and can make anything. Best for a small boat to find out what they are currently weaving for the big boats, and have them run a little more for you. Knotless Dyneema is stronger than steel. Amazing stuff. NETS is the only company I know that have their own loom in the USA.
I am an Alaska fisherman, and this is the stuff. I am sure Steve would send you a small sample if you ask nice.....:-)

Tom

I also used the same plastic weave in my tunnel vents. There is a shot in my URL. I was lucky to have Tony Morrelli here at the time and he sewed up the borders. HAs worked out good! (I know I just pumped another material, I believe it will outlast, and be much stronger for the bow nets.

I will try to find the photos

Re: Trampoline mesh from Sailrite?

Following along this thread, I happen to have chosen to use knotless Ultra cross Catamaran Netting | NET Systems, Inc. | Predator X | Trawl Nets | Trawl Doors | Codends & Brailers | Ultra Cross Netting | Catamaran Nettingtrampoline netting and here is my question:

Is there an accepted way of dealing with the edge lacing when using these types of netting material?

Assuming that I have lacing holes on the cat every 6 inches around each opening, is it best to use a rod that has been threaded over an under along each edge of the knotless net then lace that on to the cat?

How is it done in the big leagues on America's cup boats?

If you have ideas, post a few links to images. Thanks.
