Like I said, a silly argument. The hole is 1/4 inch with wires and filled with 5200.

I put that way down on my list of worries. Id worry more about a broken seacock, or transducer... Im sure you have none of those on your boat.

Actually we have no thru hulls and the depth transducer is mounted on the inside of the hull, so no penetrations.

We are full time cruisers and Im not interested in living on a boat without heads, heat/air, salt water pumps, Reverse osmosis water maker, generator and diesel engines

I honestly respect your lifestyle choices.
We have been cruising on catamarans for almost 30 years. For the last 14-15 years we have used composting heads(2 less thru hulls per head) not only for the simplicity and lack of odor, also the fact it doesn’t put holes in the bottom of our boat.
We also have heat and air. Portable heaters and window unit air conditioners. In our experience they are way more efficient and also don’t give the chance of sinking our boat with multiple items which could fail and do so.
We don’t feel the need for a water maker yet as we are still good at conserving water and still young and able enough to jug it.
We have a small portable generator to run power tools and the battery charger when needed and are very happy with our choice of outboard power.
Don’t get me wrong, we have owned catamarans with all the items you have but have learned that they are not needed in our style of cruising.
As I’m sure you could gather by now, underwater lighting is definitely not in our future!

I bought two led lights on Ebay like the ones you have listed on Amazon,
They really are good at night hanging off the back of my Cat,
Mine came with battery clips,
I may put 12 volt plugs in later, Or wire them into my transom step lights,
But thats for a later date,

Re: Underwater lights

Just a left of field idea for anyone that wants some bright light but doesn't want to spend the $ on through hull lights or normal drop-ins.

I use a 42" 13,000 lumen 4WD light bar which I tie onto the stern and shine into the water. It was a $50 cheapy but it's still going strong and kicks out a hell of a lot of light. Pretty good evening entertainment/$.

Re: Underwater lights

This. Running the wires outside the hull to lights fastened to swim platform, or above waterline is always an option.
