thank you for the updates. I'll still love to hear more - it's aluminium you say? Tube dia and wall thickness - it's carry a significant load. Who fabricated this and can you give a magnitude of costs? Many thanks.

Re: Updated Davit Design for 550 Pound Dingy Lagoon 440

Very nicely done indeed ! I too decided to remove the original davits while bulding the solar panel structure. I made something more conventional. dinghy is 380cm w/ 20cv, I can raise it manually w/o the winch before the 3rd beer. Paid less than 2000 EUR in france for the SS structure. One day I saw a guest inside the raised dinghy searching for some snorkling gear... So from that day I know the structure can handle at least 250 kg.

I too can raise the dinghy up to the solar panels, and I agree it is a very nice feature in a big following sea !

To the OP, can you answer these questions please? Have been asked a few times now during a period of about one month or so but unless I've really become blind now I can not see the answers. There are people interested in this kind of stuff on this FORUM, not much point just posting fancy photos but not answering questions, defeats the purpose of a FORUM. Thank you.

Well done. That is BEAUTIFUL, and raises not only the dingy but the solar panels too. Great work!

Thanks all for waiting! Here is the info - as well as a good picture of the "new" position of the dingy:

Aluminum Pipe Installation: Custom Pipes, Dave (754.224.9588)

Dave is 100% AMAZING! He is located near Fort Lauderdale.
