Re: Used catamaran prices, availability during recession or crisis?

Lets face it. There are just not that many affordable (<$150k) catamarans out there.
If you see one you like and you can afford it.....then buy it.

Now is also a great time to order sails and canvas work from Aussie lofts, since the Aussie dollar is down 15% vs the USD over the past year.

Companies announce closure of all plants and the stocks go up.

NYC sees a massive desaster which will have a much greater impact than GFC and 9/11 combined and nobody seems to care.

Today we see Dow Jones at the same position as 2017, but both fundamentals and outlook have declined for most companies and the world economy. Actually nobody knows how this will end but it doesn't look promising.

But it seems that money printing is enough to neutralize all the bad news in the world. Money printing becomes the major business these days. Thats a disconnection between real world and stock market.

Not saying this Party can't go on for some time (just print another fantastillion USD will buy another year or two) but that won't work forever.

Trump shows leadership? From the outside it looks pretty erratic.

I am sure Trump will twist & turn again once the death toll rises. And it will rise for sure.
If the testing capacity can keep up we will see at least 1 Mio reported cases i the US by easter time. Hopkins reports around 1.5% mortality so far for the US, but that will only increase as ICUs become scarce.
The US won't go back to "business as usual" around easter time, and Trump will find someone else to blame for this.
Money is mankinds greatest invention paper money!

I'm not a US citizen so should probably not comment, but as a froeigner it looks like any other republican that has ever lived is better than Trump, which again isn't saying much.

I'm the original OP. Thank you all for the insightful comments! One thing that is clear: We have no idea what next week or next month looks like (let alone next year).

p.s. the political junk can stay on twitter and anonymous comment boards. We come here to avoid that kind of trash. And just a bit of history for the Non American members so as not to be misinformed, Lincoln was a republican and he was pretty great.

So make a decision, do you want to leave the political junk out of the thread or do you want to talk about Lincoln?

No that’s ok. If you don’t want politics in this thread then don’t bring up your viewpoint, simple as that.
