If you started in New England you could take my 31 Searunner Trimaran. It's a grear sailor. Needs some amenitites but very solid. Plus it has center cockpit so if you got into a fight you could get out of each others hair for awhile. At $23k certainly within your budget. :-)

Maybe a tri?

If you would consider a Trimaran this one looks like a pretty good boat, and you may be able to get it for a lot better price than listed.

If you know of one for sale or potentially for sale I'd like to know. Thanks.
Two were "lost". One in the Pacific when the owner insisted a New Zealand naval ship ram and sink their boat. (she was nuts but did manage to write a book about it). The other in Hurricane Wilma. This boat was salvaged and is now in a boat yard in Titusville, FL.

There is one for sale in Texas, right now. There is also a Catalac 10M for sale in Florida. The 10M has new sail drives.
