Yeah, I had a look what was out there last night and was surprised at the boats going for $250k down.
Seems prices have dropped about 50% on many nice boats

add: your link actualy goes to a 44' Catana Owners' Version

Heres a list of outremers

You are right on Catmando, Reading the specs on that Catana 44. Owners version, boat show boat, great woodwork, looks really clean. In mast furling mainsail shows you can't have everything. It just sold in the last week or so. I wonder how much. BOB

Re: Who Builds the Best ?

Check out Dean Catamarans as well - very sturdy boats, long time on the market, [imho] better quality than Leopard. You can always contact Peter Dean (Dean Cats is a father and son business) about any particular boat - he usually knows most major things that were done on the boats since building. They stand by their work, which is very nice too.

[not affiliated with them, but based on what we've seen on the boat shows, they do build the best quality for a normal price, so just like them a lot]

Re: Who Builds the Best ?

If you look beyond the 40 foot range, I would suggest the Freebird 50. Otherwise, a good used Prout cat or a PacketCat (from Island Packet Yachts) if you are looking for something smaller.

There is a stunning Waterline 1480 for sale near me that is probably going to sell for 200k less than its worth.

The Freebird is a nice boat, but I think they only made a couple of them. Might be difficult to find.
