The cure for sinking boats is the same as for seasickness.

Go sit under a tree.

A boat built (mostly) of buoyant materials is. It might break up, but the bits would still float. I don't think a Seawind 1000 could sink. AFAIK they are built from cored fibreglass. IIRC one hit a whale in Northern NSW recently, suffered significant damage to a bow, but didn't sink.

A few flat panels of fibreglass floating in an ocean won't help save you! If it breaks up, it will sink, but that does depend on the integrity and size of the sealed sections, if any.

The one that hit a whale did damage to a small section at the front of the starboard hull, it didn't suffer a major structural breach due to running aground.

I believe - from what i was told - I believe - Can't find anything on it - may have gone.

Could you be any more equivocal?

Is this like the belief you had last year that 1000s had their survey status changed in Victoria. A belief that wasn't endorsed by anyone in the Victorian government. A belief that had no foundation?

Just sayin

You may want to consider fire before you do. Extremely rare and almost totally preventable, but if she does go up, there is nothing much left to float/sink. Seriously though, for most well found cats, fire is the single biggest threat, thankfully an extremely rare one.

Re: Why. Used Seawind is so much Higher Price than Lagoon

I was told this by the owner of the other Seawind that was with him
at the time. More than happy to provide the contact details of that owner who just happens to be a highly qualified charter skipper who also mentioned his survey issue, in fact Factor, if you check your PM's you'll find this operators website and his details are on there, but hey don't let the facts or your absentmindedness get in the way of a good heated discussion.

Saying that any vessel type sank is irrelevant and is like saying, "shock horror, the best aircraft in the world is a Boeing and it crashed." If you run the strongest built boat in the world onto rocks or pound it on the sea floor in a seaway or entrance things are gonna get nasty and quickly end in tears!

It's very taxing to post an uninformed opinion on the inter tubes. It's even more exhausting to have to type something into "the Google" and search it. Fingers wilt....

Two thumbs up, Factor. WTF people will type longer sentences to illustrate their ignorance of a subject before actually 'googleing' it up, is a marvel of the modern age of communication.

Oh great, sounds like you did a google search and found out what happened at Port Albert on that fateful day. Please can you post it here for me and others to read?

Not everything can be found on google you know. You sound like a gen-y yourself.

...which is perhaps why our flameless candles are such popular items! No fire risk and beautiful ambience, plus good for soft inside light on night watch.

Just thought we'd lighten this thread up a bit...

...and now we'll continue to watch the fireworks!

I knew Floating Impressions would have a stylish solution to the problem, seriously that is an excellent idea, candles are nice but they never would be on my boat - so flameless ones could be good.

Thanks Andrew. The flameless candles are certainly one of our best-sellers...safe, but still incredibly realistic; very convenient too with multi-phase timers that turn them on and off automatically; and a beautiful way to decorate the boat (inside and out!) for all occasions.

We'll even do CF Member discounts if anyone emails us before ordering and mentions this thread...

ENJOY Flameless Candles, Floating Impressions

The Admiral chastens me to remind everyone that we can assure prompt delivery for orders before 30 June -- We are currently exhibiting at Mooloolaba Marina -- but thereafter the stock will be stowed and we will be cruising (on our less expensive used Lagoon!) so delivery will slow down dramatically!
