Re: Youtube GreenCat 445 first sail by owner

Nothing to be sorry about , i feel it is great to move barriers and get better, lighter, and faster. The Hydroptere is a prime example of innovating yachting/sailing and some of the innovative ideas for sure will be used in the future for "normal" sailing yachts.
A few of the lightweight ideas as used in the Hydroptere we are using in the GreenCats like honeycomb Nomex , carbon fibre , epoxy resin infusion and using spray paint instead of Gellcoat since we started building 10 years ago, all to save on weight. Thanks for the comparison between a Merc SLC and a Mercedes McLaren that is a compliment.

OOI....
and not wanting to risk your commercial reputation
And taking account of the fact that the old Outremers still give the new generation Outremers a good run for their money at the Outremer Cup

Who do you think would be buyiung the drinks in a drag between my very old (98) Outremer 40/43 and your latest and by the look of it very impressive high tech design?

BTW I am not in the market for a new boat... I am just very curious?

Hallo Tomahawk you have got a very good sailing machine, one of the best of its time and still much better performance wise then most of the cats being produced today.
At the end of the day it is all about sail area, displacement ( weight ), drag, sailors qualities and waterline lenght.
