Advice on Westerbeke W-46 (1986)

Looking at a small motor sailor with this engine. Its original has about 3400 hours on it and runs good and starts right up. Seems like parts are avail online ...What would it cost to rebuild engine? Are these decent reliable motors? Any advice would be helpful-Thanks

Westerbeke isn't know for reasonably priced parts. I did a Perkins 4108 recently. Engine kit, rebuilding the injectors, injector pump, and having the head rebuilt was about $2000. But I do my own engine rebuilds.
Westerbeke seem to be as reliable as Perkins. If the engine has good compression, then with care and clean oil, it could go another 2400 hours. People that keep the rpms down and follow the maintenance schedule get reasonably long life.
