Re: Alternator rebuild

I don't know the area, but bet any automotive alternator rebuild shop could do it, maybe while you wait.

Re: Alternator rebuild

I Googled Mathews VA alternator repair shop and got a couple of hits, seemed they open in 30 min or so, but I think you may have to call one or two to see if they can do it. Sometimes a local car parts place will know the name of a rebuild shop

Re: Alternator rebuild

Call Transatlantic Diesel, they are in Hayes, Va., just across Mobjack Bay from you, near the Severn River Marina. 800-927-9295 or 804-642-9295 They are Perkins, Cummins, Volvo dealers and can either help with the Yanmar alternator or get you going in the right direction.

Failing that, Browns alternator repair in Norfolk can fix it.

Re: Alternator rebuild

Take the alternator to Advanced Auto. They can test it in the store. If it is indeed bad, they may be able to sell you a rebuilt alternator. I'm guessing yours is a Hitachi LR155-120 or Hitachi LR155-120B. Check the nameplate. If it is, see New Alternator LR155 20 129772 77200 4JMTE 4JH2E 18 6278 LR155 20B 12107 | eBay or Google around for equivalent alternators.
