Re: Another Perkins Problem

The pic in your post #31 doesn't look like your original, certainly. Does it look like parts would swap or are castings completely different? Not saying you should swap parts, end plate will be worn. It would be good if you could describe the differences to a supplier though.

Check if your supplier has one that fits - if not most will refund but often there'll be a restocking fee if you ordered the wrong thing.

Does the one in my ebay link look right? Looks very similar to me but I can't see it very well from here

Re: Another Perkins Problem

Just bought the one on your link! Lol that's the puppy I need. Would be nice to know the part number. Problem with the suppliers seems to be that the people on the phones have no idea. They work with numbers and nothing else.

A couple of things to watch for. Check the mounting surface of the lifter cover (where the pump mounts,) for cracks. It's very thin and is prone to cracks from the stud holes. The fuel pipe fittings are kind of delicate so be care full to make sure things are lined up before tightening or you can cross thread the fittings.

Re: Another Perkins Problem

Cheers, that was why air was getting in. Previous owner crossed the thread and ruined the thread on inside of the lift pump.
