Are new, old stock impellers Volvo MD7A okay?

I have a Volvo MD7A.

1) Are new, old stock impellers from Volvo okay or does the neoprene wear out over time--with age? It is still in the original packaging.

OR, should I buy a newer manufactured impeller?

2) Are there any aftermarket impeller manufacturers to avoid?

Geeze, I don't know.

How much are they asking vs the value of not worrying?

I have used them several years old with no problem.

Bend the paddles as far as you can by hand.
Any cracks in the low areas-chuck them.
