Atomic 4 1973 freshwater life expectancy?

Looking to buy a 28 Sabre 1973, well maintained freshwater NE USA lake boat. 3-4 k for boat. Boat looks solid and in good condition. Motor is nice gold color and looks quite clean. ( fire reatarder filter thing looked oily thou) .

How long can a well maintained atomic 4 live though? This one is 45 yrs old. hmmm?
How do I evaluate motor? Compression test, oil pressure, and ?. It’s on hard now, but I’d want to put it into water for a test. However I do that... full throttle into wind? Owner has had it for 18 yrs. probably used little as he sails well. He states it needs a tune up.
Thank you in advance. Looking to possible buy very soon.

If the compression and oil pressure are good, that thing should run forever.
It has no center main, so the oil to #2&3 rod journals has to make it past #1 & #4.
Don't run it for long periods at low RPM resulting in low oil pressure. (voice of experience).
