Beneteau Oceanis 45 bow Thruster Issue

Hi, I am purchasing a 2018 Oceanis 45 and very excited. The owner tells me the bow thruster burnt out previously a few years ago and now it has done it again.

He has agreed to replace it fully before I take ownership but I wanted to see if this is common and if there are preventative measures? I have read 5-10 second busts not longer. I somehow suspect it might be about algae / barnacle growth issues.

Are there any preventative items to stop burn out, I think there should be but maybe I could reinforce those when they do the work.

If you use a thruster to long it overheats and switches itself off for protection. I would replace the items that steer this thermal protection circuit.

also check that it actually is the motor that is burnt. mine died but was just the buttons on the controller from water ingress. I soldered in new buttons and works as it did. Contact the manufacturer tech support if you can. I contacted QUICK and they walked me through a number of troubleshooting steps to diagnose.
