Re: Bilge Blower distance

If you will run the fan a lot, get a low rpm fan. low noise and always taking air out. Or you can buy an old school heater car heater rheastat at NAPA.

The other thing though is, with a 3" hose way down in the boat, and an exit up high like back of the cockpit coaming... Chimney Effect works with no fan! It's surprising how much the chimney thing works with 5-6 ft of height variation.

What are the boat smells you are trying to rid yourself of?

-Mold? Ozone Gen. Ran ours constantly except at night living aboard. Wore it out actually after a couple years.
-Diesel/oil smell? Hose and scrub under the floor boards, engine etc with detergent. The bilge water gets up under there when heeled.
Joy dishwash liquid works very well. You may need a garden sprayer to spray joy/water mix up under the floors. Long handle brush. Then hose it all clean.
