Borg Warner oil pressure

Hi Ya'll

I'm in the process of bringing a Perkins back to life and it has a B/W transmission. I removed all the raw and fresh water coolant hardware and hoses. I found pin holes in the end caps of the transmission heat exchanger, so I'm replacing them and want to pressure test it to make sure all is good......but test it to what pressure? I can't find any info on the interwebs. So I trust that I can find it here.

See the table in

https://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk...ad.php?t=53645

I think 150 psi is a typical internal operating pressure, but I'm not sure that the cooler sees it.

Ah....good point. I checked the table and it's a good resource to start with, thanks Don.

Re: Borg Warner oil pressure

I recently pressure tested the small dual cooler on the back of my Perkins to 110 PSI.
The Borg Warner Velvet Drive manual says the pump puts out around 150 PSI but I'm not sure if full pressure goes to the cooler. Any way the coolers are rated for a higher pressure than my air compressor can get up to.

Re: Borg Warner oil pressure

The 150psi is working pressure. I'd test to at least 200 or maybe 250 to be on safe side.
