Looking at buying a 1988 Searay with twin cats..... app 2200 hours on them. Are they good power plants? Anybody out there have them or heard anything about them particularly good or bad?

Had a 3208 1n a truck and it was a great motor. They were used heavily in the trucking bus years ago and very respected if that helps.

Have a cat 3208 in my boat, great solid engine. 4900 hours and still running strong. Great engines as long as they get proper maintence and clean fuel/oil etc.
