CHANGE GEAR RATIO ON KANZAKI TRANS?

Good afternoon everyone,
I'm in the process of rebuilding the existing 4JH3-TE. it was paired with a kanzaki KM4A with a 2.63:1 ratio. I was weighing whether to rebuild the trans or get another. I see an option online for a KM4A with a 3:30:1 ratio.

I'm seeing if you kind gentleman and ladies have an opinion which way to go.

The math says you get about 25 percent more rotations with the 3:30. Which as a consequence when you're motor sailing (which I do often) you are moving along with the motor revving at a lower rpm and saving fuel.. On the other hand, when you're at the dock, the prop is still spinning 25 percent more.. hmm..

What say you ?

The ratio is down gearing, the engine will rotate 3.3 times for every one rotation of the prop.
