I had to ventilate my place but yes I survived, same thing with storing my gas can, it gives off some fumes so i had to put it next to the window (i thought about putting it on the fire escape instead).

All one lung outboards run like rattle traps when you throttle up. Just plain physics. The payoff is light weight and compact.

Also with a 2.5 on your boat you’re going to find that going much past 60% throttle just makes more noise and burns more fuel without going any faster lol

Re: Chinese boat engines

Hey guys question or you, my current spark plug is rusted out, other than that i think the engine looks okay and it runs just fine. do you guys think i should just leave it in or try to rip it out and replace it? im afraid if i try to take it out, i may destroy it and get it stuck. i am inclined to leave it in until the season is over and deal with it then.

Hmm... What do you mean by rusted out? I'd think you'd have to remove it to see the plug itself. Is it rusted on the back end where the wire connects?

Re: Chinese boat engines

^^ maybe means rusted in, as in rusted into the head?

theres rust in between the wire connecter and where it goes into the engine

Which engine - your Suzuki or the Chinese one? Is the plug insulator clean and not cracked?

It should be easy to remove and check the plug... but if the engine is fairly new and runs well, there's probably no point

Chinese boat engines

Take the cap off, clean it up with sand paper and put some silicone grease on it and reinstall. Or a little sewing machine oil, or even engine oil, whatever you have.
I doubt the Zuki, mine has the watertight caps, aka “sparky”

And you thought I was making that up didn’t you
