Clutch slipping

Yanmar 3HM35(F) with a KBW10 transmission. Clutch started slipping. The more I read about it the worse my expectations are getting. I understand that I need to pull the whole thing apart, but it seems I'm gonna need a lot of special tools, which I hate as I probably would never use them again. I live on the boat, no shed or landbased property. So, my question is really, can I pull the whole transmission off and take it to a shop to refurbish or what would be the most sensible approach?

I have the basic tools and a bit more, and did a fair bit of basic engine maintenance so far, but never worked on the transmission before.

When purchased my boat had a hurth (looks remarkably similar to yours) which started slipping, the advice was go down the rebuild path, requiring specialised tools and more importantly specific knowledge, have it rebuilt by an "ëxpert" or replace with new PRM. I chose the PRM path and have been very happy with my decision.
