Constant water from engine block hose off pump

Hey there folks, I am attempting to investigate a exhaust blockage however in the doing I removed the raw water pumps cover plate and notice a constant flow of water from the engine block hose. It never seems to stop.. I did see that we are have a water heater hooked up to the exchanger... not sure if that has anything to do with it...

See the attached image - water coming from the bottom hose...

You don't say what engine this is or what sort of heat exchanger and water heater is involved, but yes, you could have a bunch of water in your total system that is draining down to the level of that hose. Consider it this way. Unless you've got a bunch of pressure in your home system, your kitchen sink delivers less than two gallons per minute wide open. How does this stream compare? Put a bucket under it and see how many minutes it takes to deliver one gallon.

This happens to me when I forget to close the thru-hull to the engine raw water intake. Of course, could be something else.

I really, really hope that not the situation here. It could take knotproper (nice pun) quite awhile to drain the Earth's waters into his bilge.

Thanks gents, this is not the coming from the seacock. The water is just draining from the block. Im guessing its just taking forever given its a mere steady trickle. its a yanmar 20 (3ym20)

I'm no expert. If it was me I would call my friendly mechanic to take a look. Salt water along with oxygen in the block is not good. I believe oil is on top and may protect engine from some corrosion as it coats parts as it is lowered. Question is how the water got into the block. Just my 2c. Wishing you success. Keep us posted.
