Diesel-Compatible Gasket Compound ?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a gasket compound that could serve on the inspection plates on my diesel tanks? The compound must be able to be immersed in diesel constantly as well as be easy for me to scrape off as I would like to remove the inspection plates and clean the tanks on a yearly basis. Many thanks in advance!

You could make gaskets out of Nitril rubber or Buna then you would not need sealant. 1/8" thick material is what I've used. If your flange's are severely pitted or you have inadequate bolt spacing where you cannot get the tank to pass a 2 psi air test, Permatex makes fuel friendly sealants. You'll be impressed by how much of a poor fitting flange Nitril will seal. Gasket manufacturing shops sell the material for much less than you'll find if for on then internet ( at least that's been my experience)
