Diesel Engine Repair and Maintenance Course

I am looking for information for a marine diesel engine repair and maintenance course. Preferably one that has a hands on curriculum. An online course is not out of the question but would like some practical application also. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I noticed the other thread right after posting mine. I am currently in Utah but moving to Jacksonville Florida soon.

I would check with the local marinas. Up here, they frequently sponsor courses, possibly in the belief that they will then have to deal with less stupidity. Anyway, they will certainly know if there are any around

You can also check the online "PassageMaker" for diesel courses that they sponsor at Trawler Fests.

First place I'd look would be a community college where you will be living.

Re: Diesel Engine Repair and Maintenance Course

Try "Mac Boring" and "the wooden boat school or the Annapolis sailing school. I liked the wooden boat school more. It was longer and you stay there.

Mac Boring has a great hands on course given by a really good instructor, the problem is that is in NJ, but a flight to Newark and local hotel would do ya.

+1 on the Mack Boring training recommendation. I have flown long-haul for two courses there and it was well worth it.
