Dirt in Diesel fuel

...we have a 250 liter fuel tank, diesel. yesterday I saw a black -slime- like greasy dirt in the fuel filter . cleaned it...and it came again . what is it ? how can I cure it? do I need to pump out all the 250 lit of diesel fuel? is there any ADDITIVE to kill the bug?

Mike - I've moved your post to this forum. There are currently several active threads on Fuel, cleaning, contents there of, etc. Please feel free to look around. Also, at the top of the screen, in the Blue Banner Menu, is the word "SEARCH" - type in "Fuel" or "Clean Fuel" or "Dirty Fuel" ... But, I suspect that if you look in this forum for the recently active, you'll find more than enough GOOD information to answer your questions.

The best way to do it i to remove all the fuel and, if you have access ports, physically clean out the tank.

Don't believe the hype about fuel polishing as that, while it does clean the fuel of suspended stuff, any of the crud on the bottom and sides, stays there.

No additives are going to do a thing for you right now.

Nor will an Algae-X......Personally, I think they are a scam.

Magnetism does not kill bugs, otherwise we would use MRIs to cure illness.

Ditto!

Yeah! I would say a tank cleaning is in order. Sludge has built up in there and a cleaning is the only thing that'll get it out.
