Disassemble 2CMH 2hp Yamaha OB

I need to replace the impeller in my little tender motor, but can't get the lower assembly to come away from the power head. I'm sure this is due to corrosion where the shaft mates in the lower part of the crank.



I can't get too aggro as it's just a teeny little thing and I'll start breaking bits off the alloy castings. Other than gentle tapping and spraying some WD40 or similar into the small gap that's opened up, does anyone have more clever ideas?
