Do 1964 mercury keikhaefer thunderbolt engines pee?

I have recently bought a 1964 fletcher arrow speedboat with the original engine. It starts and runs well and when the hose is connected it sprays water from above the prop shaft, it doesn't seem to have a pee hole under the engine cover, is this normal?

I think I remember the water shooting to the rear, not to the side.
But I was a kid then.
Is this the in line 6 cyl " Tower of Power"?

Yea it spews water to the rear of the prop but only above the prop alignment pin, no water can be visible releasing from the engine whilst below the water tho, is this normal?

Your other thread has a video, see if that is your motor.
It may have been added though. I was a kid back then, I remember the two exhaust ports spitting water and of course exhaust.

This was my 1965 Glasspar with a 65hp Merc. It had a normal pee hole just below the cowling.

Just as a guess yes circa 64.

Keep in mind the 'pee-hole' isn't a true discharge. It is only a 'water flow indicator'. They can and do get clogged. If clogged, they have no impact on the proper cooling of the engine. If there is one installed on that model and clogged, then it can be commonly cleaned out with a bit of wire reamed up there.

You said it was a Thunderbolt engine.
They were big into racing back then for PR and doubt a little piss hole was important?

I've done this and still nothing comes out, I had her just below full throttle for 15 mins and engine still wasn't hot, she did die when I gave her full throttle from zero on the way back and took a good few pills to get her going again before the pull cord jammed. I took the cover off and sprayed her with lube and all seems good.
