Does the Perkins 6.3544 have zincs in the heat exchanger?

The user manual does not mention any in the maintenance schedule but someone told me that these use zinc 'pencils' to ward off internal corrosion, so thought I'd ask.

Mine is a TW series.

Mine does. It is a small pencil zinc in the oil cooler Needs changing quite regularly. My old engine....same model had a zinc in the heat exchanger.

newlazydays,

Can you provide more specific information? I'd like to know part number, where to screw in, and any other assistance you can render.

An image would be very helpful.

TIA, KL

I've never found one on mine, either. But I haven't pulled every nut.

I'm also interested in seeing more detail on where to look!

The Perkins 6-354.4 does not have an engine zinc installed by Perkins.
If your engine has an air charge cooler, there's a drain valve in the
rear cover, you can remove this drain valve and install a 1/4 inch
pencil zinc.
