Re: Does this take the cake?

I believe, in Europe, a tachometer is referred to as a rev counter.
I agree that "body", in this translation, would likely refer to ground/earth.
However, according to google, "Gods Body" translates into the Swedish "Gud Kropp", which does not leave me any the wiser!

Re: Does this take the cake?

Not a poor translation, it is not translated at all. Gods in norwegian (and swedish I believe) also means something solid e.g. iron. Body is the english word.... I believe.
Google; gods expedition hell ...for a good laugh

Dont have to google it, its where they send their goods at Hell. Hell is in Norway, and is (or was?) a railroad station.

I'll buy that, though my OCD tends to kick in without a solid explanation such as that.

Re: Does this take the cake?

I speak Dansih (which ic NOT swedish, but I understand most of it)

Body means just what it says - connect to body, frame, chassis etc

Gods in swedish means something solid so again body frame chassis

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

So, today I learned a new word in each; Swedish AND UK English. I was too quick to jump to the conclusion that it was just another poor translation. I guess I see too many of those.
