Engine driven refrigeration compressor mounting

I知 looking for feedback from those that have refrigeration compressors mounted on their engine. I have a Sea Frost 134a engine driven refrigeration system on my sailboat. The compressor is mounted on my Yanmar 3GM30F diesel, using a fabricated bracket of which one mounting location uses a bolt that mounts the fresh water pump to the engine. I知 curious how others have these compressors mounted. I believe I have a hairline crack in the fresh water pump housing, just next to this bolt location. The compressor is not small so I could see over time the stress on the water pump bolt could create damage. The refrigeration systems works fine, so I知 somewhat reluctant to remove it. If my boat didn稚 have refrigeration when I bought it last year, I wouldn稚 be planning to add it. I知 trying to take the keep it mostly simple philosophy of boat systems.

Any feedback from those with a similar setup would be appreciated.

Re: Engine driven refrigeration compressor mounting

If it's not broke, don't fix it, unless you don't want refrigeration.

Re: Engine driven refrigeration compressor mounting

The only "broke" is that possibly using the fresh water pump mounting bolts to secure the compressor pump created a crack in the water pump housing. The crack at this point is minor that allows a slow leak of coolant.
