Engine upgrade

Good day all,
Would value thoughts on upgrading VP D2-40 to D2-55. The boat is Bavaria Vision 40 originally sold with either option. My D2-40 is 2007 made, functional, 5500 hours but now started leaking oil. I find the D2-40 a bit underpowered. So, instead of starting the endless patching up and throwing good money after bad, maybe it is better to get a new more powerful one?

Just be aware if this is a RCD compliant vessel , that’s a major craft modification and technically engine certification ( including sound bypass testing ) has to be redone.

Of course it may mean little to you. Be aware that you need to be careful what you say when selling her.
