flying with an electric outboard

unable to find any stories in search engines. Any good or bad experiences trying to fly with a small 3 hp equivalent electric. ie Propulsion 1.0

carry on for the battery and check in for the other parts.

I have no stories but I predict that would work. Its the litium battery that is the problem and you are solving that by carrying it on

You can only carry lithium batteries in carry on luggage and the capacity is limited to a max of 2 batteries of 101 - 160 watt hours.

Re: flying with an electric outboard

Putting aside the 3HP lies, the epropulsion has a 1276Wh battery.
I'm not sure where you are at, but if FAA rules apply you can have up to two 100Wh batteries for carry on and up to two 160Wh batteries for checked.

So no, you can't.

Othere countries may have different rules. It's best to check with the airline you plan to fly with.

No way you are flying commercial with that battery. And that battery shouldn't fly at all. When shipped it is GROUND only I suspect.

No problem. Just charter a Part135 carrier for the hazmat stuff and U fly commercial. Or, find a willing Part 91 pilot/plane. I used to fly charged scuba cylinders that way. And 6 gal of boat gas. But: NEVER fly Li batteries snuck into aircraft!
