Very easy motor to work on.
Borrowed a liner lifter & popped them out. Replaced the liners & after close inspection reinstalled all pistons & rings/bearings as they were in perfect condition. Half a bottle of cooking oil to lubricate everything as it went back together & ran like a swiss watch.
I've been told the components are the same as in the 4cyl Fordson tractor .... just the block is 2 more pots?
Well that's great to know. I'm thinking I'd like to use the same motor and rebuild it as everyone has been saying how good they run and pretty economical as well. Well this thing is also a 4 cylinder so i'd say its identical less the marinization accessories. Part seem available too. Seen some second hand stuff and also an outlet in the US that seems to sell parts at a reasonable price.

Yes been to their site. I'm thinking getting an engine important may be a bit expensive in transport however if I can get mine reconditioned I could source parts and spares from there. They seem like reasonable prices.

There is a guy at quays marina in Bayview that does fords, I had him come and look at mine, he seems to love them a lot over the modern ones. Easy to rebuild, and probably worth the effort instead of replacing and the complications that involves

Hi Markhunter. Is he part of a business? Or does he work for himself? Any idea of how I could find him? My absolute preference is to use the same engine. If I can get it rebuilt properly then there's no.reason I shouldn't get get good years out of. They seem to be excellent engines.
