Honda Outboard Question

Hi Everyone:

I traded my 6 hp Mercury for a 2002 Honda 15 hp outboard and some cash. I have the manual and want to adjust the valves but can't figure out which are the intake valves and which are the exhaust because of this I can't find TDC. The only thing I could find in searching the net was that the intake valves are closer to the carb. Well as you can see from this picture:

The valves are in line. The carb is on the left. The only thing that I can guess is that the intake valves are the two center ones. I can't adjust the valves until I get this figured out so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Re: Honda Outboard Question

When turning the flywheel in the direction of rotation look at the valves that are "rocking". The one that is closing is the exhaust and the one that is opening is the inlet. With the valves rocking, give one complete turn on the flywheel, this will be close enough to TDC firing for clearance adjustment.
