Hurth HBW 250 Leaking

I looked at the manual and it looks like you have to split the case to change the seals. Has anyone done this and is it a job that can be done without special tools?

I had a lip seal on the shifter lever go bad. This can be replaced without spliting....easy fix. Is your leak the front or rear seal? Sure???

You can split the case and change the front seal without any special tools, you just need an anerobic sealant to reassemble the case. Now the rear of the case is a whole other matter, you need to completly strip the transmission of bearings and clutches to change the output seal.
