Hurth Marine Transmission

Recently I purchased the on line verrsion of a:
ZF Hurth Marine Repair manual.
It covers HBW- 50, 100, 150, 150v, and 250.

I purchased the manual from:
MER Equipment
388 W Nickerson
Seattle, Wa 98118
(206) 286 1817
Marine Transmission Parts, ZF and Hurth Marine Transmission Part Sales

Please note I am in the Philippines and they were very good in shipping.
My only problem was the bearings which cost US$250.00 pair. I was able to purchase here in the philippines for US$12.00 Pair they were timkin bearings exactlyu the same as in Hurth parts list.

I have an old Hurth HBW 250 transmission. I would like to rebuild but the casing is very cracked.

Question: does any one have an old Hurth HBW-250 casing which they would like to sell.???

Please rest assured that if you are going to rebuild this transmission it is very eash and the clutch parts are easy to replace.
Regards

So you don't need any special pullers?

No special pullers. I did mine with an aluminum pipe that had a I/S diameter just bigger than the input shaft. You will need a good vice (Large). some plates to hold while you dissasemble. during hamer blows to the pipe during dissassembly. for the out put shaft and input shaft end bearings use hard wood and strick the end of the shaft the lower bearing will start to move off an than you can get under it . Do not hit on the out put shaft coupling to the poropeller.

When you get it apart you will need to get the repair manual. It is a must and has good instructions
