Impellers - Nitrile versus neoprene?

Anyone know the difference between a nitrile impeller and a neoprene impeller?

I can order either for my generator and wondering if there is a difference in lifespan of each material.

The price for the nitrile is about $5 more.

Ok. After some more digging it appears nitrile is for oil based pumping and offers 10% less service life. Jabsco Impeller Guide

I don't use either, switched to RunDry years ago. Made from Branonite. Don't know what branonite is, but they last forever, don't dry out and fall apart if they sit idle for long periods, impervious to salt water and oils, and not much more expensive. I have two spares that I've had for years and haven't needed. I swear by them.

How many hours are you getting on Branonite? I haven't read good things about the "rundry" brand. I get about 800 hours from standard impellers.

I've read that several people had problems with the inner gear spinning. See review here. Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Globe Marine Run-DryŽ Model 625 Impeller for Jabsco 18948-0001, Johnson 09-702B-1, Volvo 835874 & Sherwood 10615

yeah - neoprene dissolves/degrades in petrol so i guess its not going to last long in oil. nitrile is impervious to petrol, oil, whatever.
