Importing a Yanmar???

is there any reason that a 1gm10 Yanmar could not be imported into the US...I assume they were sold here..but there are not many available used here whereas they are available in Europe at a OK price

It depends on whether or not Yanmar can or will provide you with an EPA import certificate that covers the exact model of the 1GM10 you're trying to import - they might be able to.

*If* your block is ok, you *might* be able to buy an engine from an EU source, have them disassemble it and ship you everything but the block as "engine parts" - which don't need the EPA certificate.

Then, of course, you'd have to put all those pieces on your block in order to have a working engine.
