Inboardenginesale.com

Has anyone bought an engine from inboardenginesale.com. I’m looking to buy a new Beta60 and they’re incredibly cheap. Of course they are located in Singapore but they ship. Seems too good to be true.

Yes, hard to believe they could supply New Beta for under 1/2 price. Be wonderful IF it isnt a scam.

It’s an Indonesian company in Jakarta, not Singapore and it can’t be selling the products it does at the prices listed.......unless they’re copy engines from India or China. Engines were once marinised for Vetus in India and I’ve personally bought Caterpillar and Cummins engines from China with great results and low prices...... amazingly low prices.
I still fail to see how this Indonesian company can have such a diverse product list with everything from full DC propulsion packages and high power outboards through to the Cummins QSM range even if they sell copies. I do eventually intend to enter into an online conversation with them with a view to purchasing from them but I’m going to be damned hard to convince.
At Bandung , not too far away one can buy Rolex watches (and every other luxury brand) that are perfect working clones of the originals that fool watchmakers..... $8,000 watches for less than $200 so not too much of a stretch to apply the pricing ratio to marine engines but I would doubt the warranty and would like to see a photo shoot of the actual engine and engine number before committing to a transaction.

Re: Inboardenginesale.com

There are a lot of companies claiming to sell things very cheap in Indonesia, $500 Honda generators etc.
Having done business there myself, be very careful. At best it’s some kind of bait and switch, counterfeiting there is rampant, it’s been maybe a decade ago but when I was in Jakarta last there were very special requirements you had to meet to use US cash. They had to be ineffective new bills in certain denominations and very specific requirements on serial numbers for example.

Didn’t your mother teach you about deals too good to be true????

Seriously, if they are a real dealer, Beta Marine will confirm it. The chances are not small, they are ZERO.

The only people who are going to go chasing after this deal are those who either don’t know the value of things, or are greedy and think they can get something for nothing.

Re: Inboardenginesale.com

It boggles the mind that the internet is 25 years old and people have still not figured out the Nigerian Prince scam and are still considering purchasing engines and generators at 1/3 the normal price from some unknown stranger in Indonesia. Use your brain people!

These are the same morons that whine the loudest when they are 'taken' by an unscrupulous internet site.

A fool and his money are soon parted........don't take the bait.
In the worst case, they will outright steal your money.
In the best case you will be delivered a cheap counterfeit engine that will run for 15 minutes.
A good reliable diesel engine costs what it costs...crack that wallet open and buy the real thing.
