Re: Lighter vs heavier diesel engine

I repowered my sailboat 3 years ago. I got a fantastic price on a D2-50f Volvo Penta. This is from an authorized dealer in England. The engine is fantastic. DO NOT BUY A Volvo Penta. The support is zero. The paperwork that comes with the new engine does NOT include an installation manual. That can only be obtained by an authorized technician from a secure website. There is no tech support. Part prices are outrageous. Fair prices can be obtained from "parts4engines.com". Volvo Penta, NEVER AGAIN. Same for Brooks & gatehouse AKA Broken Sh_thouse.
