Machine Shop Saildrive Prop Shaft Repair
Can someone recommend a machine shop that is capable of repairing a grooved SD50 propeller shaft. I am located in east coast US. From what I understand the repair involves grinding the groove to new metal, welding the groove to fill and then machining the shaft back to original diameter and finish. Any comments based on experience will be greatly appreciated. Also related:
please comment if shim changes are needed after such a shaft repair
please comment on the use of Speedi Sleeves and

please comment on shaft repair vs buying new shaft.
