Re: Mercruiser 260hp mcm carb running rough

Thank you for all that have input. It was definitely some funk in carb. Cleaned it up well, separating the three sections was a huge pain in the rear.

Based on the gaskets, I don't think this carb has been gone through since new (1983) pretty fantastic it has run this good this long!

I did the ol' soak good in carb cleaner and use a compressor to blow out all the passages. The kit came with all new gaskets, new plunger for priming, float needle, and float needle seat. If anyone attempts. Be very careful as to not loose parts, I spent some time searching for small clips and a lock washer the quarter of the size of a penny.

Runs like the day it was delivered new!
