No one has mentioned the funnel filter used by all Canadian bush pilots. It removes all water and sand like impurities. Its a common everyday felt hat. Yes a felt hat. It will also remove the varnish that may be developing if ever tested. And being a hat, you will know which side is the fill side. lol

Found the marine mechanic I know here. He's rebuilding rebuilding the pump. Be a couple days. Can't buy the pump here. Parts only at Zarcozza. Inflated price also. Bought the seal and new impeller. Just around $100 for that alone. They wanted 450 for the same thing plus the bearings and circuits. Outrageous. Mechanic can get all I need plus making new shaft. Says will be a lot less than new pump. Can be one once I'm back up north from CD. Around 250 or so.
