Funny. Sometimes it's important which way you put the parts in. Who woulda thunk? Cheers!

Re: Nanni, Kubota, Three-Cylinder Diesel Won't Rev in Gear

Yeah, I was trusting the "experts" to put the plunger back together correctly. Anyway, it's all water under the bridge now, or in the boat?
Cheers from Sibolga,

Thanks robert, wasn't that, it was a faulty cambox fuel injection pump.

Re: Nanni, Kubota, Three-Cylinder Diesel Won't Rev in Gear

Quick question:

How did you get past the tamper proof bolts?

On my Northern lights generator, they were 5 (five) flat bolts. Much aggravation trying to build a 5 flat wrench in the bush. Finally ground them off and replaced with plain old 6 flat bolts.

Also, a note. I have had recurrent failures of the 6 "delivery valve holder" nitrile o-rings. They seem to last about 3000 hours, then start to seep lots of fuel. When I take them out, they are almost crunchy.... I suspect low-sulpher diesel is the culprit.

Replacements are crazy expensive. US$15 apiece from Alaska diesel. Best price I found was from a tractor dealer, still US$10 apiece. Takes me 4 hours to replace, and I haven't dropped a spring yet

I carry spares now.

Well done on the field repair!

Dave

Ahoy Dave, the nanni has allan key head type bolts, really easy to take it out, dont touch the goveber. Motor never made it past 1500 hrs, so no O ring problems!
