if you're off the coast of Cancun, I think it's spelled "Isla Mujeres." Thought the clarification might help.

Go to town, in the restaurant Barlito, Brad the owner may be able to point you in the correct direction.

That's what I was thinking. There's a big Florida to Mexico race every year that ends at Isla Mujeres. There must be at least contacts there.

Well, you know, it is Mexico. Not putting Mexico down for this, it's a cultural thing, but they don't always come when they say they will -- "Manana Mentality" (sorry Spanish spekers but I can't find the tilde on this keyboard). Call him and ask politely about it. There may not that many people on the island who can do what you need. You may have to go by his timetable, and you don't want to alienate him.

you can call out on the cruising net in the morning--vhf, there is also an ssb one. you can find help that way ... best of luck.
the nets are best way to find help in strange places, as the info is from your peers.

Re: Need help isla majures Mexico

Have a look at other threads. I lived in P.R. for a while and always ordered my parts used and had them sent down, then learned to do the install myself.

This may help:

If you wanna get things fixed in Latin America, you better think first what it takes to get them to the place you want stuff fixed. Take a cab, go look for them, then ask them what has to be arranged, mix with your knowledge of mechanics if it is the truth and then, go with them buy the spareparts, observe them how they fix and make sure they adjust everything properly. This is the way you life down there and stuff get fixed. Be nice, pay what you have to pay and not more, but neither less. Good luck, I lived good in Latina America and always got stufgf fixed.
