Need key for Beta Marine Engine

I need to order a key for my boat that didnt come with one. The part number is
600-00058 as far as I can tell. Is it hard to come by Beta Marine diesel parts? Someone told me this is a great motor but I cant seem to find parts. I got motor started by jumping stuff but I dont really want to replace this switch as it looks like a very quality piece. Google has left me empty handed.

Ummmmmm. Call beta?

I don't even have a beta, but when I've called them looking far a serpentine kit they were very helpful.

Re: Need key for Beta Marine Engine

If the boat was repowered with the Beta it is possible that the switch came with the boat and the original engine.

Also, switches are pretty generic and not usually engine specific. In fact I would wager that if Beta supplies switches with their engine it is most likely a standard model from Cole Hersee.

The guage switch panel is not original and says Beta on it. I did find the switch in an online beta part supplier but it was in UK.

The only problem I see with this is them having the correct blank. Hopefully I can just call beta tomorrow and get answers. It looks like there was only 1 key used.

Maybe remove the switch or panel and take it to a locksmith.

You have found Beta Marine US, right? If not, here's the contact info.

Head Office: 11702 Hwy 306 S, Minnesott Beach, NC 28510
Tel: (252) 249-2473
Fax: (252) 249-0049
Toll Free: (877) 227-2473

I had to buy a new switch for my boat and found them online for $30-$60. Might be easier and cheaper to replace the key than have a locksmith make a new one.

We have a Beta 50 and have nothing short of outstanding customer service from Beta Marine US, in NC. Call 252-249-2473 or 877-249-2473. You will get a real person, not a recording.

Re: Need key for Beta Marine Engine

Hi,
You seem to say that apart from the key, you have difficulty getting parts generally. Did you know that most Beta (and Nanni) engines are based on Kubota originals, so you can get them, probably cheaper, from a Kubota dealer. This applies only to the basic automotive parts. The marine-specific assemblies, such as the heat exchanger would of course have to be got from Beta. The part numbers would be different, but once the base engine is identified, you would have no problem.

I called Beta left a message and actually got a call back from a very nice lady. She is sending some keys and if they are not right will be sending another set. Thanks everyone!
