Neutral switch????

Hi all! I am new to this site so bear with me please.

I have a 2007 Mercury, 115 hp, 4 stroke on a Lowe deck boat.

My problem is that it runs great for a day or two then will not start.

It will start with the gears disengaged but when I put it into gear it dies.

It will however crank for about 1 or 2 seconds in neutral. Then after a period of time, sometimes an hour, it will start.

Any ideas?? If the Neutral switch is bad would it still be able to crank but not start??

Re: Neutral switch????

An idea would be to ask on a fishing site.
Buncha old white sailors here.
"Scream and Fly" is a forum I go to sometimes for redneck wrenchers that know their OB's!
