New 60 hp engines... Which brand?

Good evening all! Unfortunately one of my evinrude 75 engines died so I'm having to reengine. I'm looking for a pair of 60hp to reduce the weight and am pretty close to placing the order on a pair of the new Tohatsu 60s which they now make themselves. Any verdicts on tohatsu reliability? If not what brand would you go for?

Tohatsu’s are very good motors.
However what kind of boat? If a sailing Cat etc. I would look only for high thrust motors, and I would rather have a smaller HP high thrust myself than a big non high thrust.

Yamaha has a 60 HP high thrust, I don’t know about
Tohatsu.

On edit apparently they do.

However I don’t know if either is EFI, and in my opinion EFI is better than a carburetor.

Oh, and I think Tohatsu has always made their own motors, in fact many others are actually made by Tohatsu.

Tohatsu is a rugged outboard mainly used by commercial fisherman. Buy one or a pair of Suzuk's

Suzuki has a slightly lower gear ratio so ought to swing a bigger prop and is fuel injected.
But what does it weigh?
Suzuki Marine - Product Lines - Outboard Motors - Products - DF60AV - 2012 - DF60AV

It's on a motor catamaran...Motorcat MC30. Cruising speed will be 12-18 kts, topping out about 22. The new ones are EFI. The 60 used to be a rebranded Honda but they launched their own since last season.

Why Suzuki, have you had a bad experience with Tohatsu?

Re: New 60 hp engines... Which brand?

I must recommend Suzuki. On my 9 meter RIB i use two 250hp Suzukis since 13 years. They are extremely reliable, totally quiet and uses larger props and lower output rev than the Yamahas I have compared to. This is why a lot of working RIB's use Suzuki. My have been absolutely faultless.
